Due to extremely low temperatures and dangerous travel conditions, including refreezing on back roads and secondary routes, tomorrow, January 27, 2026 will be a remote learning day for all students.

We want to extend our sincere appreciation to our road assessment crews for their continued monitoring of conditions, and to our custodians and essential staff who have worked tirelessly to clear parking lots, sidewalks, and walkways to help keep our facilities as safe as possible. We are also in close coordination with VDOT, which will need to re-treat secondary roads as conditions improve.

We will continue to monitor power outages across the division and will share updates as needed. Please stay tuned for additional communication.

Instructional Expectations

Middle and High School students will complete their assignments in Canvas and participate in live virtual meetings with their teachers. (Synchronous)
Elementary students will complete learning activities using their instructional packets.

We recognize that some families may be experiencing power outages. Students without power will be given three days after returning to school to complete assignments without penalty.

Staff Expectations

Essential staff should report as required by their supervisors.
12-month staff will work and meet virtually as needed.

Activities

All sports and extracurricular activities are canceled for tomorrow.
